Our Deacons and Deaconesses

Deacons were appointed to share in overseeing the developing Christian church in that first century after Jesus. Today, at Triadelphia, Deacons:

  • open the church facilities Sabbath mornings and make sure all is in order,
  • greet members and visitors and help them find seating,
  • collect the church offerings,
  • assist with baptisms, communions, weddings and receptions,
  • close the building when all are gone,
  • see to property maintenance, and
  • visit and care for the sick and the needy.

Deaconesses also care for the sick and the needy. They assist at baptisms and help with preparations for the quarterly communion services. Frequently they take part in welcoming members and visitors to services and cooperating with the elders and deacons in home visitation.
