As in the past, members went out Christmas Caroling to our Clarksville neighbors on Saturday nights, December 14 and 21. Caroling was followed by a warm up that included pizza, hot chocolate, cookies, and, of course, fellowship.
Members helped make Christmas a little better for two local families in need this season. Our Community Services ministry coordinated this outreach event. Gift tags listing individual gift wishes from the families were placed on the trees in the sanctuary. Members selected the gifts they wished to supply, bought and wrapped these gifts and brought them to church on the 21st. A simplified book of Bible stories and one of Joe Wheeler’s “Christmas in the Heart” books plus grocery gift cards were provided for each family. Pastor Sam delivered the gifts and reported that both families were very appreciative and grateful.
For several weeks, parts of our church, including the sanctuary, were without heat due to the heating system dying suddenly and unexpectedly. Although rising heat from the Fellowship Hall helped, most members kept their coats on during the service and some wore gloves. The new unit was installed on the 17th and Triadelphia is now fully heated again! Special thanks to Gonzalo, Albert, Fred, and Brent for their quick work on getting our church back to room temperature again.
